Happy Sunday, everyone! It's been a long time since I have done a Sunday post. It was something that I used to do every Sunday back in my book blogging days and I have missed it. I think it will be something that I will incorporate into the blog from now on.
This week has been extraordinarily hairy. My daughter-in-law returned to work on Monday after her maternity leave, which meant juggling work schedules for everyone. It turned out to be a lot easier than expected, but the credit is not mine. Katie worked in our store in the morning and spent the afternoon with the kids, which allowed me to spend some much needed time in the store myself. We are rearranging and putting in new products, so it was good to get some of that done.
Where home renovations are concerned, the carpets have now been completely removed from our house, and the wood floors cleaned up. My home office renovation is also complete!
I finished reading The Wife Upstairs by Rachel Hawkins for my book club read. It is a version of Jane Eyre. It was pretty good as far as these things go. Of course the original is better, but the updated piece was enjoyable enough.
I have to throw in a cozy mystery every now and again when things get hectic in the real world. By Hook or By Crook by Betty Hetchman, the 3rd book in the Crochet Mystery Series.
One of my all time favorite books is Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier and I have been meaning to read more by this author. I have chosen My Cousin Rachel by Daphne du Maurier. From just the small bit that I have read, it seems like it has the same writing style that I so enjoyed in Rebecca.
On the blog this week:
Rosie watching Benji
Our granddaughter, Evelyn, spent the night this week, and we watched the Netflix 2018 Benji Movie. While it is rare for me to like remakes, this may be one of my favorite children's movies I have seen in a long while. Our cockapoo, Rosie, watched the entire movie, which is more than I can say for either Tim (as seen in photo), or Evelyn, who chatted through the majority.
May your week be filled with joy and good health!
