Amyris is relaxing before bedtime, is an aphrodisiac, is soothing and uplifting, is great for aging skin, improves skin texture, and improves appearance of fine lines.
Amyris is considered non-toxic, non-irritating, and can safely be applied to the skin 'neat'. To account for potential individual allergies, be sure to test a small amount first, by placing a drop on the inside of the upper arm and waiting 24 hours to see if any reaction occurs.
Amyris is sometimes referred to as Indian Sandalwood, although the properties are not the same as Sandalwood. The essential oil is derived from a tree that can take up to 30 years to produce oil. The tree is suprisingly in the citrus family and grows to a height of 60 feet and bears white flowers that grow into black-bluish fruits. Amyris was used in its native habitat of the Caribbean region for its calming and sensual qualities.
