Peppermint (Mentha piperita) helps soothe digestive problems including bloating, gas and queasiness.

Catnip has the opposite effect on humans as it does on cats. Don’t worry! It’s very calming and beneficial for pain relief and allowing the child to sleep peacefully. It’s also a wonderful herb for fever support.

CHAMOMILE.png

Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla) is effective for soothing digestive upsets due to its calming and relaxing action. Commonly used for gastric upsets, bloating, and bowel regularity. Chamomile helps to relax muscles and calm nerves.  It’s calming and helps the child rest. It is an incredible would healer and helps heal the mouth as the teeth are pushing through.

Lavender is beautiful and brings this tea to life with its bright purple hue. It helps with the feverishness and headaches that can sometimes accompany teething. It also encourages sleep and relaxation, relieves anxiety and reduces pain.

FENNEL.png

With alkalising properties, Fennel seed (Foeniculum vulgare) helps treat gastric discomfort and colic.  It helps relieve excess gas as well as relax the digestive tract.  Fennel is especially useful for soothing infant colic.

Cinnamon (Cinnamomum zeylanicum) is used to calm the stomach. It is a carminative, an agent that helps break up intestinal gas, relieve tension and digestive upsets.

 

How to Use

Use 1/2 tsp (1g) per cup (150ml) and infuse with boiling water for 5-10 minutes. Once cooled, measure relevant dose and give directly to baby/child.  For babies administer via a sterilised dropper.
                        
0-6 months - 5ml, up to 5x daily
6-12 months - 10ml, up to 5x daily
1-4 years - 20-40ml, up to 5x daily
For best results: Give to baby after feed or when experiencing digestive discomfort.

Alternative Directions: If you're breastfeeding, take 1 cup immediately before feed for baby to receive via breast milk.
The prepared tea can be refrigerated (covered) for up to 12 hours. Alternatively, distribute the recommended dose into ice trays and freeze. When needed, pour a little boiling water over the ice cube to melt.
