Making this Golden Turmeric Milk Smoothie Recipe for breakfast is a wonderful treat for those of us who want to start the day fighting inflammation. Not only does it feature one of the most anti-inflammatory foods in the world, turmeric, but it also has other anti-inflammatory superstars like pineapple and cinnamon.
Turmeric is a vibrant yellowish-orange root that has been used in India for nearly 4,000 years. While India still produces and consumes the majority of the world’s turmeric crop, it has gained popularity throughout the world because of its numerous medicinal uses.
Turmeric is one of my favorite things to incorporate into my diet on a regular basis. I have suffered with aching joints and there is nothing better for fighting inflammation and soothing discomfort than this beautiful root. The tricky thing about turmeric, however, is the way that the body digests it, making it less effective than we would like. It is easy enough to make turmeric more effective though, and this recipe does that! The key is to add some finely ground pepper. This little tip can make anti-inflammatory benefits of turmeric 2000 times more effective than without it!
Using The Herbal Toad’s Daily Turmeric Powder makes this recipe especially easy, extra tasty, bioavailable, and oh so anti-inflammatory, but if you don’t have any, you will find a work around alternative at the end of the recipe.

Turmeric is something that I frequently recommend for a number of reasons, most frequently for its powerful anti-inflammatory benefits. You will find turmeric in our Anti-Inflame Tincture, a tincture that I do take every day, but I still love the art of getting beneficial properties the traditional way, from my food. Plus, I get an extra kick by adding a squeeze of Anti-Inflame Tincture right into the blender as I am preparing my Golden Turmeric Milk Smoothie.
Golden Turmeric Milk Smoothie Recipe
For anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and digestion benefits, this Golden Turmeric Smoothie recipe is a win in all ways possible. The recipe includes one of our favorite anti-inflammatory fruits, pineapple. We use Daily Turmeric Powder Blend for easily adding ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, and black pepper to boost the absorption of turmeric.

- 1 medium Banana frozen
- 1 cup Diced Pinapple frozen
- 1 cup Coconut Milk
- 2 tsp Daily Turmeric Powder, see notes for substitutions
- 1/4 cup Carrot Juice, optional for enhanced flavor and color
- 1 tbsp Raw Honey
RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS
- If you don't keep frozen bananas and pineapple, freeze these the night before.
- Add banana, pineapple, coconut milk, daily turmeric powder, carrot juice if including, and honey if including, to a high-speed blender and blend on high until creamy and smooth.
- Pour in glass and enjoy!
RECIPE NOTES
1. Add a squeeze or two of Anti Inflame Tincture to your smoothies for an extra anti-inflammatory kick. You will get all of the benefits and the tincture will not at all alter the yummy taste of your smoothie.
2. If you do not have The Herbal Toad’s Daily Turmeric Powder, substitute with 1/2 teaspoon turmeric, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/8 teaspoon ginger and 1/8 teaspoon finely ground black pepper. This will not have all of the same ingredients as the Daily Turmeric powder, but it will do just fine.
