Treating Gout and Kidney Stones Naturally
While gout and kidney stones are sometimes caused by the same thing, too much uric acid buildup in the body, kidney stones can also be caused by a buildup of calcium. Either way, the home remedy is the same. The key is to cleanse the kidneys, flush the system, and use herbs that combat the existing problem. The good news is that treating gout and kidney stones naturally may be easier than you think.
First of all, the following herbs are some of my favorites for both conditions, and that is why I have combined them in one easy to take, shelf stable tincture. Chance Piedra (aka Stone Breaker)
Chanca Piedra is a herb also popularly known as Stone Breaker that is often used to treat stomach problems, bladder issues, liver and kidney problems. Chanca piedra is a widely used herbal remedy to fight kidney stones, breaking them down, and helping them pass more easily, whether the stones are caused from an excess of uric acid or a build up of calcium.
In a clinical study of 150 patients with kidney stones (25mm in diameter) over a 6-month period showed that taking a tincture of Stone Breaker reduced the incidence of kidney stone formation quite significantly.
In another 2010 study chanca piedra clearly showed how the herb interfered with the many stages of stone formation.
In another 2002 study out of India chanca piedra was shown to help to increase bile secretion of the liver, helping with digestion and elimination of waste, and improved absorption of nutrients.
A 1990 study conducted by German Dr. Wolfram Wiemann treated over 100 patients who suffered from kidney stones with chanca piedra and found it to be 94% successful in eliminating kidney stones within 1-2 weeks!
