This formula can also me a mild aspirin free headache remedy. This formula can be used with babies to help alleviate the pain and discomfort of teething as it is an effective pain-reliever and anti-inflammatory, while promoting relaxation and peaceful sleep. So, you can depend on Gentle Digest to help your little one through colic, teething, general fussiness, and more. This is an excellent alternative to, and more effective than gripe water.

For Colic & Teething

Gentle Digest, our colic and teething tincture, is an alcohol extracted tincture, and for good reason.

Glycerin tinctures aren’t as potent or effective as an alcohol tincture. Alcohol works to penetrate the cell structure of the plant material, effectively extracting the constituents, where glycerine does a poor job of this, particularly when it comes to some plant species. Also, our cold extraction process, as opposed to a heat extraction process, helps maintain the full spectrum of the plant's constituents in the final product. When used as an extraction method, organic grain alcohol increases absorption without affecting blood sugar levels.
A glycerin tincture is never a good thing when using it for anything tooth related. Glycerin coats the teeth like a wax and prevents remineralization and is not an effective choice for any treatment of oral conditions.
Alcohol tinctures work faster and more effectively because they are absorbed in the mouth and stomach and bypass the slower intestinal system.
Alcohol extracted tincture have a naturally longer are more shelf stable and have an extended shelf life.

Dosing Instructions

Via Mother's Milk *

Mother should take 2-3 squeezes directly in mouth or in water for taste, as needed prior to nursing.

Via Bottle or Cup *

Younger than 3 months -- 2 drops
3 to 6 months -- 3 drops
6 to 9 months -- 4 drops
9 to 12 months -- 5 drops
12 to 18 months -- 7 drops
18 to 24 months -- 8 drops
2 to 3 years -- 10 drops

For Teething *

Apply a drop to sore area of the mouth.

Directions:	Put directly in mouth, dilute in water, or put in hot water to drink as tea—the alcohol evaporates and the medicine stays in the water.

A Family Tincture!

I love this tincture for the entire family whenever any of us have an upset stomach. It works great. I wish I had this when we had younger children for all those fussy days.

The whole package!

I first used this for morning sickness, then used it for colic, then teething. It works amazingly well for all of that and so much more. We have used it for motion sickness and for other nausea issues. Another great tincture, The Herbal Toad. Thank you.

Free shipping on all domestic orders over $100 offer applies only to orders placed at theherbaltoad.com and shipped through The Herbal Toad's shipping method of choice (most usually USPS) within the United States. Orders under $100 will be charged a flat shipping rate of $8.95. Faster shipping services will require an additional fee. Orders are shipped out within 24 hours, excluding weekends. The majority of orders are received within 3-5 business days, however; if you need your package quickly, we recommend choosing the priority shipping option. A tracking number will be provided for every package shipped. You may track your package by simply copying and pasting the tracking number to your browser address bar. The Herbal Toad cannot be held responsible for conditions beyond our control after being turned over to the shipping provider. It is solely up to you, the customer, to enter the correct shipping address. Once the package has left our facility, there is nothing that we can do to change the shipping address.

Delivery and Pickup

Orders are delivered once per day and offered to Ozark AL customers free of charge. If your order was placed after deliveries have been made, it will be delivered the next day. If you are in immediate neet of your orer, please call ahead to see if we have staff available to deliver.

For curbside pickup, please call us for instructions for your first pickup order. You will recieve an email when your order is ready for pickup. In most cases your order will be ready within an hour if your order is placed before 10 am. Orders placed after 10 am may be available quickly, depending on staff availability. In some cases, orders placed after 10 am may not be ready until the next business day. If you are in immediate need of your order, please call ahead to see if we are able to fulfill your request.

Returns

For reasons of quality control, we cannot take returns on any consumable product, other than the reasons listed below. Even if unopened, we would have no way of knowing beyond certainty if the product was altered, replaced, or opened then resealed and contaminated. Please be certain of your purchase before ordering. This policy is for the safety and confidence of our customers, as well as to prevent our small business from losses due to an impulse buy. Please note that just like any over the counter or prescription medication, with herbal teas, tinctures, oils, and supplements, not everything works for everybody, therefore, we most generally will only accept returns if there is a defect in the product or a mistake on our end.
